The Tria is the newest at-home laser hair removal device product to be widely available for consumer purchase . How Tria Works
The Tria laser hair removal system works just like the laser in a doctor’s office, using a process called photothermolysis. Essentially, the Tria isolates the dark colour of hair underneath the skin, and “zaps” it with the laser heat, disabling the follicle. This means that, after enough treatments, the hair folicle is destroyed and the hair will not grow back, making it a permanent hair removal system.

The hand-held device has three intensity settings -- low, medium and high. The effectiveness of the treatment rises with a higher setting, though it is still effective on the lowest setting.
Using the Tria
The Tria is used by first shaving the area to be treated, ensuring that no hair can be felt above the surface of the skin. The area should be completely washed and dried, and free of chemicals and makeup.
The Tria is then placed on the area to be treated, with each of the three points that surround the small laser pad touching the skin. The Tria will emit a beep to let you know that each of the pads are touching your skin, then will beep again, emitting a laser pulse. It is common to feel pain that is described like the snapping of a rubber band, though many users report a lower level of pain.
It is recommended to repeat this process in half-centimeter circles over the area until the entire area has been treated. Treatment should be done every two weeks for the first three months, then once a month for the next three months. Hair removal should be permanent at this point, though certain types of hair may need “top up” treatments once and awhile.
