Pampering is an essential step for ultimate stress relieving. Don't spend the New Year in a funk! Take the time to pamper yourself with some "me" time.
Treat yourself this new year with a regularly, scheduled pampering day or a pampering weekend. There are many ways to pamper one’s self. The most common types are massages, facials, manicures and pedicures. Massages: Massages are a great way to relieve stress and pamper yourself. Not only is a massage relaxing but it will also detoxify and help rid the body of toxins. Much better than a fast! Remember that the day of a massage is not the day to plan a shopping trip. Take it easy the rest of the day and relax. There are many types of massages, anything from Swedish to Deep Tissue as well as Hot Stone. Massages can be performed by massage therapists, chiropractors and physical therapists. Massages will vary in price depending on how long the massage is for as well as the type of massage. Facials: Facials are not the most important indulgence for great skin but it is a relaxing experience. Facials will cleanse the skin. Than the esthetician will examine the skin and determine any skin problems. The esthetician will then exfoliate the skin and remove any blackheads and unclog pores. Next will be a facial massage to relax you and stimulate facial muscles. Than a mask and other creams will be applied that are specific to your skin problems. Financially, facials start around $75 with boutiques, spas and resorts running higher in price. Manicures and Pedicures: Manicures and pedicures are a great start if pampering is a new experience. They are not very expensive, you see immediate results, and it is a relaxing time. With both services, the technician will massage the hand and/or feet. For a pedicure, your feet will be soaked in a warm bath. Go with a girlfriend or daughter and not only be pampered, but bond with a loved one as well. Everyone’s budget is different. But do not let that get in the way. Pampering can very easily be done at home. Many companies have created at home kits of some of the most popular treatments that use to be done just in a dermatologist’s office or a spa. Often times a kit can be put together on your own for less money. Another way to pamper on a discount is to try the local beauty college. Since the students need the practice but are not professionals, the services are offered at a much lower price. There is no need to be concerned of a student’s mistakes. While it is possible, the instructors are very hands on and are there to assist if needed.
